Psychonauts 2 will have an invincibility toggle

Double Fine confirmed that Psychonauts 2 will feature a spinning tunnel made of teeth, but it doesn’t mean that you must die there. Invincibility toggle will be available in the long-awaited sequel. This means that you won’t have to die once if you are a beginner.
During some standard Twitter brand banter, the studio confirmed this on Twitter. The studio tweeted, “If you beat Psychonauts 2, with the invincibility toggle turned on, you still defeat P2.” Later, the studio added that “all people should have the opportunity to enjoy games.”

The messages go on: “All ages, all needs,” they continue. It’s an important and ongoing process in our industry, and we must meet [sic]. What’s the point of it all? End of the day? You can use it however you like.”
Double Fine doubled down, perhaps expecting some blowback from certain quarters. “Uh, excuse me, I beat Sword Guy Serious Time using a no hit-hard mode. If [you] didn’t do that, I don’t respect you.” You don’t have the rank of shooty mcBlam diamond six, so can you comment on them? It’s not my opinion.

“Cool bud. You are so cool!

The difficulty in games conversation is a frequent topic. There are two main combatants: those who want accessibility at all costs and those who believe a studio’s vision should not be compromised (the latter argument often comes up in discussions about Dark Souls).

Psychonauts 2 is expected to launch in August with no crunch.
