Warframe’s TennoCon 2021 Set New Records for Viewership, Concurrent Players Online

TennoCon, a digital-only event, was held on July 17th.WarframeFans from around the globe were able to join Twitch and watch the live stream of the convention. The gameplay reveal was a 30-minute long. The New War expansion is coming soon will be released sometime in the latter part of this year.

Digital Extremes, the developer of Warframe, announced at TennoCon 2021 that Warframe would soon support cross-play on all platforms. This will allow players to play the game with their friends regardless of the platform. Developer Digital Extremes also revealed that the free-to-play third-person shooter would soon be available on mobile devices. A working version of the game is in development.

Digital Extremes revealed that the convention had broken player attendance records in a press release about the event, perhaps because TennoCon 2021 being online only increased accessibility. TennoCon attendees also earned Warframe a spot on Twitter’s Top Ten Global Trending List that day. They also broke two other records: the in-game peak concurrent player and the viewership of Twitch’s Livestream.

TennoLive Relay provided Warframe players with an interactive preview of The New War and a replay of some of the most shocking and significant story points. To participate, Warframe saw hundreds of thousands of players log in to the game. This helped propel the game onto Steam’s Top Ten Highest Ever Peak Concurrency List for a free-to-play game.

Twitch’s The New War expansion gameplay trailer attracted more than 540,000 viewers. This stream was simultaneously the most-watched Warframe broadcast and the most attended TennoCon event. Warframe jumped to the top spot on the streaming platform and became the only game listed on Twitch’s Top Five Highest Peak Concurrent Watchership Streams in 2021.

TennoCon 2021 wasn’t only about breaking records for developer Digital Extremes, however. Warframeplayers who tuned in to the Livestream were eligible for various exclusive in-game rewards and limited-time bonus events. You could also purchase two TennoCon packs, one with digital cosmetics and physical goods such as a pin, lanyard and badge.

TennoCon 2021 Livestream viewers donated to Unity Project of London (Ontario), an organization that provides shelter, supportive housing and stability for those experiencing homelessness or trying to escape it.
