Activision Blizzard Employees Walkout, Ubisoft Employees Join In Solidarity

Earlier this week, as hundreds of employees from Activision/Blizzard participate in the walkout, the “abhorrent and insulting” behavior of the company’s leadership has prompted protest and outrage across the gaming industry. Employees are protesting what was initially triggered by a lawsuit against Activision Blizzard.

There are many examples of harassment at Activision Blizzard’s workplace. Now, several Ubisoft employees are standing in solidarity with Activision Blizzard employees, whilst simultaneously writing their own public letter to Ubisoft’s leadership demanding change and accountability for those involved.

For Activision Blizzard, CEO Bobby Kotick had regretted the company’s “tone deaf” response to these complaints, promising impactful change. The company has not only mentioned changing its company procedure to address the employee walkout but also hired WilmerHale, which was responsible for preventing Amazon workers from unionizing. California’s lawsuit against Activision Blizzard remains active as Activision Blizzard’s situation is constantly changing.

PS5 Beta Update: M.2 SSD Support and Other Changes

Some PS5 console owners have complained about the 825GB hard drive that is included in the base console. However, the latest beta update to the console will allow players to increase their storage. Following a beta software update this week, players can now access the PS5’s additional M.2 SSD slot to expand the console’s internal storage for installing and playing games. The previous external storage was not able to play PS4/PS5 game, but this slot can now be used to install and play PS5 games.

On the PlayStation website, Sony has outlined the requirements and specifications required for the console’s additional SSD slot. This beta release also features 3D audio support for TVs with built-in speakers. DualSense is used to calibrate the audio output. The PS5’s Control Center features additional customization options, game base management options, and a Trophy Tracker feature that allows you to track progress on up five trophies.
