Age of Empires 4 shows off naval battles, camel riders

Two trailers have been released for Age of Empires 4. One shows the Abbasid Dynasty civilisation (based on the Abbasid Caliphate, the Mamluk Sultanate and rulers of Islam for 750 years), and the other shows naval warfare. The trailers don’t have much information about the game, but it does look like something you can run on a computer.
This is a good thing. The buildings look better than the smaller units. Even though you are zoomed out to an absurd degree in an RTS, the fact that individual models look simple is not a problem. It’s not that it would be obvious from the comments sections. They race through the years with comparisons such as “Nice 2010 graphics”, or “2006 graphics? Why?” “AoE 3 was launched in 2005, and had better looking naval combat than this.”

Age of Empire 4 will launch in August with eight asymmetric civilisations. You can also play as the Chinese and English Mongols, Rus Sultanate, Holy Roman Empire, Mongols, Mongols, Rus, Delhi Sultanate and Mongols. There are four historical campaigns: The Rise of Moscow (The Mongol Empire), Norman Campaign and 100 Years War. The 3D terrain may be an advantage for units that stand on higher ground. It is also possible to stand on walls as an archer, which is a nice feature.

Age of Empires 4 is now available on Steam and Game Pass starting October 28.
