Genshin ImpactPlayers are eagerly awaiting update 2.1, the latest update to the game. It will be out soon, and miHoYo will allow players to re-download the update—Genshin’s Update 1.3.

Just like before, the pre-installation of Genshin Impact update 2.0 will only be available to PC and mobile users. These assets will not be available for download on PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5. Update 2.1 will be released on September 1, 2021. Today, miHoYo posted the date and time that pre-installation downloads will be available.

Genshin Impact’s open-world update 2.1 will become available on August 30th 2021, at 11:00 UTC+8, 7 AM Eastern Standard Time. Some of the assets needed for the 2.1 updates will be available through PC and mobile versions. This allows those who wish to download the update quickly to have access to them via the menu. While the pre-installation takes place, mobile users won’t be able to play. However, PC users can download it in the background as they play. It will vary depending on your connection speed and download speed, but it can reduce the time taken to download.

Mobile players using iOS devices will need to go to the App Store and click the Update button to download the Genshin Impact pre-installation update. Android users can either follow the instructions in the app or go to the Google Play menu to update the game. To update the game on a PC, players must navigate to the Paimon Menu and then Settings. The loading screen will include a “Pre Install Resource Package”. The launcher will need to be updated by PC users. Click the “Game Preinstallation” button next to “Launch”.

MiHoYo has not indicated whether it plans to allow preinstallation for PlayStation users. This will hopefully be made available to console users to help speed up day-one downloads. Although miHoYo has not yet released the date that the full 2.1 updates would be available for players on September 1, that information should soon be available. In the meantime, players can go back and find all the hidden 2.0 quests located in Inazuma while they wait.
