Disney Announces the Release Date for The Bob’s Burgers Movie

Fans of the beloved animated seriesBob’s BurgersYou can now rejoice that the long-awaited movie is finally coming out. Disney The news was announced along with a Twitter poster featuring the film’s new poster. It included the caption, “Let’s get this PATTY began!” The film will be released by 20th Century Fox in theatres. It was written and directed originally by Loren Bouchard. On Memorial Day Weekend 2022.

The new movie will be based on the long-running animated series of the same name that follows the exploits of the Belcher family, who own and operate a burger joint in small-town New Jersey. The series, which ran for 11 seasons on Fox, has been renewed for a 12th- and 13th season. The 12th season will premiere on September 26, 2021. The main cast will reprise their roles as Belchers, with H. Jon Benjamin playing the patriarch Bob and John Roberts playing Linda, their fun-loving daughter Tina, Eugene Mirman portraying Eugene Mirman, Kristen Schaal playing Lousie, their mischievous youngest child. This will be Bouchard’s feature directorial debut. Other TV credits include the animated musical series Central Park, which revolves around several characters living and working in the New York City park.

Bob’s Burgers won many awards over its 11 seasons. 20th Century Fox announced the adaptation in 2017 with an expected release date of July 2020. The release date has been moved several times, just like many other films and TV programs affected by the pandemic. Disney first announced that the film’s release would be moved to April 2021 before it was completely removed from the upcoming release schedule in January of this year.

Now, the movie’s release date has been moved to 2022. Although plot details are not available, Bouchard confirmed that the movie would be a musical comedy like a TV series. It’s also speculated that viewers will see Lousie’s signature pink bunny ears. Bouchard previously stated that Louise would be reunited with Kuchi Kopi, her beloved nightlight in her fantasy world.

Despite the complications and delays, Disney and Bouchard appear to be determined to continue The Bob’s Burgers Movie’s theatrical run. It has been difficult for theatrical movie releases to be made due to the pandemic. Many films have premiered simultaneously on streaming services like HBO Max and Disney +.

In a previous interview with EW, Bouchard stated, “We decided we really want the movie to come out in theaters because Bob’s is already on TV. We want it to be available in theaters for everyone. We don’t want anyone putting themselves in danger. We don’t want anyone to put themselves at risk. But, we do believe there will be a time when everyone can safely return to the theaters. Bob’s the movie being seen in the theatre, in the dark, with other people. This is something that we have never been able, and we are excited about it. This is the main course we are delivering to people in this instance.
