Red Dead Redemption 2 Mod Adds Tons of Mexico Locations
Red Dead Redemption 2, the sequel to the popular cowboy shooter, was released in 2018. Many fans were thrilled to return to the Old West and the locations they loved from the original game. Red Dead Redemption 2 brought back some of the most beloved locations, such as the city of Blackwater or the town of Armadillo. The prequel to 2010’s title did not allow players to cross into Mexico.
Mexico was a key location in the original Red Dead Redemption. John Marston tracked down Javier Escuella, his ex-gangmate, in the second act of the game’s story. Players had the opportunity to travel through Nuevo Paraiso in Mexico and visit many major settlements, including Casa Madrugada and Chuparosa. Red Dead Redemption 2 did not include Mexico, but cowboy western fans have decided to add Mexico to the title.
Red Dead Redemption 2 modder Siemreaper released a Mexico Megapack, which adds 13 Mexico-related maps to the latest title. The modpack includes many other iconic Mexican locations, including Chuparosa and Escalera. The modpack includes eight location mods by RedMaxBR, and five by AClassySliceOfToast. They can be downloaded as a collection. To cross the border, fans should be aware that ‘Lenny’s Mod Loader & Script Hook DR2’ are required.
Mexico was a key part of John Marston’s story through the first game. Through the Landon Ricketts questline in Mexico, the player is granted access to the game’s strongest version of the ‘Dead Eye’ mechanic. The Mexican Revolution plays a significant role in the story of the first title. John becomes involved with a Mexican revolutionary, and the Undead Nightmare expansion for the first game features Mexico heavily throughout its development. Red Dead Online fans have also requested the region as one of their most favorite areas.
Red Dead Redemption 2’s modding community is full of talented and unique creators who push the game to the limits. As the game approaches its third anniversary, modders are trying to give players new ways of experiencing the Old West. Others have also added new mechanics to the game. The Red Dead Redemption 2 community still produces stunning fan content almost three years after its original release.
