Legion TD 2 was my first encounter with it in 2016. The developers had launched a Kickstarter campaign to help fund its development. Its history is much more than that. The developers launched a Kickstarter campaign to support its development in 2016. Legion TD was a Warcraft 3 Mod released in 2009. The development of the standalone successor started in 2014. Early Access was made possible by the successful Kickstarter campaign. It finally became available on Steam on October 1.
Legion TD 2 is a tower defense video game that includes MOBA elements. It supports singleplayer and cooperative campaigns, as well as 2v2 or 4v4 matchmaking. While the basic idea is simple: build an army, defend your King, and eliminate the enemy, the multitude of fighters and factions allows for a wide range of offensive or defensive options.
Steam says that some fighters can give you strategic advantages in early game. “Others enable powerful late-game synergies.”
AutoAttack Games, a four-person developer, said that the launch announcement stated that “As an indie 4-person team we’re incredibly grateful to you all.” Over the past 7 years and 10 months, we’ve poured ourselves into Legion TD 2. Legion TD2 is what it is today because of those who were there from the beginning. It was a dream come true to go from Warcraft 3 Mod to Kickstarter to full launch to early access. We hope you enjoy the game as much we do.
Reddit AMA: Project lead Brent “Lisk” Batas stated that the developers intend to continue work on the game after launch, adding new content, gameplay updates, and improvements. He also highlighted how far Legion TD 2 had come since its Warcraft 3 mod days and described it as “much easier to learn”.
Lisk wrote that there is a tutorial, a campaign, five tiers AIs, weekly challenge mode and sandbox mode. There’s also a tutorial for beginners. Launch seems to be going well so far. The developers claimed that 23,000 players have downloaded Legion TD 2 this weekend. It currently has a “mostly favorable” user rank on Steam. This includes the Early Access period. It’s on sale for 20% off–$16/PS12/EUR13.50–until October 8.
