Star Wars: The Old Republic is testing a ‘combat style’ revamp

One of the add-on elements is currently being tested on the public server in preparation for the 10th anniversary of Star Wars: The Old Republic as well as the release of the Legacy of the Sith expansion. Legacy of the Sith will add combat styles to allow players to choose the abilities of different classes.
You could previously choose one of the two advanced classes at 10 levels. An Imperial agent could choose to be a sniper or an operative. The new system will allow characters to choose a combat style starting at level 1. An Imperial agent would not be allowed to choose between Force-based combat styles, but they could choose from any of the following tech-based blaster styles: commando, commando or Powertech. While Force wielders will have a limited selection due to their faction, they can unlock other power types with sufficient Light or Dark Side points.

The Old Republic’s public testing server is currently testing the PowerTech and mercenary combat styles. They have been rejigged. “To make these classes feel more encumbered, customization is more concise,” states the blog post. “We are working to reduce the number of abilities while ensuring that these classes stay distinct and unique.”

In the coming weeks, more updates will be available on the public test server. Fraser Brown, who wants a complete sequel, declared that he doesn’t want Knights of the Old Republic 3 and wants Star Wars: The Old Republic 2.
