Gal Gadot Excited For Zoe Kravitz’s Catwoman In The Batman
Gal Gadot expressed excitement about Zoe Kravitz’s portrayal of Catwoman in The Batman. The model-turned-Hollywood A-lister has starred in the DCEU as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman in 5 films, including the recent Zack Snyder, recut of Justice League. Gadot’s Wonder Woman films are praised for being impressive female-led superhero movies. This is a far cry from historical duds like Halle Berry’s Catwoman in 2000.
Zoe Kravitz is the new actress who will take over Selina Kyle’s feline role. The Rough Night actress will play the role of the cat burglar anti-heroine in Matt Reeves’ The Batman. The DC reboot will also feature Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne. Kravitz is following Anne Hathaway, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Eartha Kitt as iconic Catwomen. Selina Kyle, the new Selina Kyle, is a less tech-savvy cat burglar who will again be caught up in a romance with the caped crusader.
Gadot spoke out about Kravitz’s addition to DC’s universe in a Variety interview. Gadot has seen the 2nd trailer for Kravitz’s upcoming film and says that “She [Kravitz] is incredible.” Gadot also praises Kravitz’s actress as a “talented women” before saying she’s “so happy having another female as a friend.”
Gadot also expressed her support for Kravitz’s DC character and suggested that she be open to other “comrades”, such as Catwoman, to join Wonder Woman in a female team-up movie. Gadot was asked if she would be open to the crossover and said, “We should ask Walter Hamada.” The current DC Films President, Hamada, has many heroes from which to choose, including Mera and Harley Quinn and numerous villains who have had successful movies (including the upcoming Batgirl).
Gadot and DC fans have responded positively to the trailer for The Batman. Kravitz’s Catwoman is a critical element of the film’s appeal. If the film is as successful and well-received as it appears, there’s plenty of potential for spin-offs focusing on the iconic feline. Gadot’s comments only add to the speculation. This opens the possibility of a female team-up or even a showdown. It remains to be seen if Wonder Woman will go toe to toe with Catwoman in future.
Batman will have many villains. However, The Riddler will be the main antagonist. He looks pretty different from previous versions. Batman’s history has been fascinating on the big screen. He has had different directors, which has resulted in different styles and tones. Not all of these have been well received by critics and fans. The Caped Crusader is not without its ups and downs. He was a star in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy (a high point) and Joel Schumacher’s Batman & Robin (a low point).
Batman joined the DC Extended Universe as Batman v Superman. Ben Affleck played the role of Batman, but Warner changed its plans to continue DC content after Justice League’s underperformance. Batman was then given a chance in a separate world from the DCEU. This allowed for a different Bruce Wayne and a completely new storyline. Matt Reeves will direct the Batman. It stars Robert Pattinson in his debut as Bruce Wayne. He’s still in the early years of his career as a vigilante and detective. The Riddler (Paul Dano), Colin Farrell, Catwoman (Zoe Kravitz) and the Penguin (Colin Farrell) are just a few of the villains in this Batman movie. But the Riddler will be the main antagonist.
