Star Wars: Every Villain Rey Could Fight In A Post-Sequel Trilogy Story

The Star Wars Skywalker Saga ends with Rey reaching Jedi Knighthood. But even though the Sith are gone, there are still other enemies she could face. Rey’s grandfather, Sheev Palpatine (aka Darth Sidious), was the last of Sith Lords. The Sith Order perished with him during the dramatic Battle of Exegol. Both continuities in Star Wars show that the galaxy is vast, and the Sith may have been the greatest threat. However, other threats could arise, necessitating protection for Rey Skywalker, her new generation, and the Jedi Knights.

Conflicts between Jedi and Sith orders are the main causes of conflict in Star Wars. However, having the Sith gone will allow future Star Wars stories to explore new territory. The High Republic multimedia story takes place between the Sith Order’s supposed destruction a mile before the Skywalker Saga but before they resurfaced during the Invasion of Naboo. It makes creative use of Star Wars galaxy to see the Jedi battle new antagonists. Legends-era material had many antagonists, even though they were not part of the official timeline.

Rey Skywalker’s story ended with Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker. There are no plans to make Star Wars material after the events of the film. The story will be set after the sequel trilogy. There are many potential antagonists for Rey Skywalker and her Jedi, other than a revived Sith Order. Other dark side groups may fill the gap left by the Sith or the High Republic’s villains who could make a comeback. Rey could find herself in conflict with Legends antagonists, given the tendency of the post-2014 canon universe to reimagine materials from that timeline.

Drengir

The Danger, a sentient species plant, threatened the Republic and Jedi during the High Republic era. The Danger, a sentient species of plant with an intrinsic connection to dark sides of the Force and extremely durable bodies that even a lightsaber blade could not destroy, were a formidable opponent to the Jedi. They sought to devour all forms of life. They were trapped in an ancient space station called the Starlight Beacon. This means that the dark side-fueled, deadly Drengir could return to menace the galaxy if their stasis field is broken.

Sith Cults

Legends and canon show that the Jedi and Sith don’t represent the only Force-using organizations in the galaxy. Star Wars. The Clone Wars introduced an entirely new version of Dathomir, the dark side-using Nightsisters and Rogues. A Star Wars Story featured the benevolent Guardians of the Whills. The sequel trilogy’s Knights of Ren were closely associated with the Sith and was destroyed. It’s easy to imagine a Sith-worshiping, dark side-using cult rising to challenge Rey and her Jedi. The Sith were destroyed, but the dark side continues to exist.

First Order Loyalists

While the First Order was also defeated at the Battle of Exegol, the Sith were decimated. However, their fascist ideology could still easily survive. After Endor, the Galactic Empire surrendered to the New Republic. However, the New Republic did oversee their demilitarization. The remnants of the Imperial Empire continued to flourish and prey upon the innocent, as shown in. Unfortunately, the galaxy will always have brutal, weak-willed individuals who will be attracted to fascism’s ideals. Therefore, former First Order members or those who believed in them could be a threat in the galaxy following the defeat of Palpatine on Exegol.

Underworld Organizations

The criminal underworld of Star Wars will continue to exist, despite the many generations of Jedi and Sith that have fallen. The Hutt clans, which are always present, often switch sides to be friends or foes of the Jedi. The Hutts could be an opponent, allowing Jabba’s son Rotta to become a villain. If left unchecked, crime organizations such as Star Wars Story’s Crimson Dawn could overthrow entire worlds (whether former Sith founded them). The Mandalorian terrorist organization, the Death Watch, is outfitted with lightsaber-resistant armor. Their warriors are skilled and could pose a challenge to Rey’s new generation Jedi.

Thrawn

Although Grand Admiral Thrawn may not be a Sith or Force-sensitive, he is one of the most dangerous aliens on the planet due to his intelligence and malice. Timothy Zahn created him for the Legends universe. A reimagined Chiss strategist was introduced in Star Wars Rebels. He may return to the galaxy in the Star Wars. Like his Legends counterpart, Thrawn is a strong believer in the Empire’s ideology, which he implements with remarkable tactical efficiency. Thrawn could be back as one of Rey’s most dangerous enemies if he survives the potential clashes against Ahsoka Tano.

Yuuzhan Vong

Another legends-era threat is The Yuuzhan Vong, an extragalactic race that hates technology. They are made up of organic materials and have the unique ability to resist Force. After the Empire’s surrender in Legends timeline, the Yuuzhan Vong war devastated the galaxy. A new version of the species for the canon universe could pose a serious threat that could replace the Sith. Rey is currently rebuilding Jedi Order. An enemy with lightsaber-resistant armor and weapons and an apparent absence from the Force would be an interesting twist for her.

Abeloth

Legends revealed that Abeloth was one the most powerful beings in the galaxy and could surpass the abilities of Jedi and Sith. Abeloth was an eldritch abomination as Star Wars. She could be easily inserted into the timeline as “Mother” of the mysterious Force-connected realm in Mortis. Abeloth is comparable to a goddess. Her threat level in Legends was high enough to force the Jedi and Sith to work together to defeat her. Abeloth is one of the most powerful villains in Star Wars. Her destructive abilities and sheer size make her an ideal enemy for Rey, especially after the Star Wars sequel trilogy.
