Sonic 2 Movie Releases its First Trailer. Open-World Sonic Frontiers’ Video Game Revealed

Sonic fans got two new trailers for projects that feature SEGA’s iconic blue blur as a mascot at the 2021 Game Awards. First, let’s say that we knew what was coming. We have our first trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog II, the sequel to the movie. It will be released in March 2022.

Sonic the Hedgehog II will see Jim Carrey return as Dr. Robotnik, Idris Elba as Knuckles and Colleen O’Shaughnessey playing Tails. Tika Sumpter plays Maggie, James Marsden’s sheriff Tom. It sounds very old-fashioned, Sonic. Robotnik is out to find a unique (possibly chaos?) Sonic. Sonic and Tails attempt to stop the emerald by assisting Knuckles. Unconfirmed half-pipe special stages. (Nobody told them Knuckles didn’t show up until Super 3. Yeah?

That ringing sound that comes out of the gate is what I refer to. I am in. Fair play to Paramount Pictures for placing Elba’s Knuckles prominently in this teaser. The man enjoys playing what a badass is and will experience some joyous epiphany during act three. Carrey is also having a great time as he moves across the screen with a mustache that does justice to his role. It’s kind of cool to think that Sonic has been cruising around the natural world as a vigilante-like spiky vigilante. He can’t just sit there chewing chili dogs all day.

But, there’s more! Rumors had already circulated about a SEGA-made Sonic game. It would be set partially in an open-world, Breath Of The Wildstyle. A name was also mentioned: Sonic Rangers. We now know that the game will be called Sonic Frontiers. It’s not open-world, but it will have an open-world area…which sounds more like Zelda than Pokemon.

SEGA’s Sonic Team Japan has worked on a new Sonic Games series. The console and PC release is expected in 2022. However, the gaming giant has now confirmed that Frontiers will feature the Sonic games series’ first-ever open zone, which players “will be able to explore.” SEGA also stated that it would be visually stunning, and the trailer is only CGI.
