Square Enix announced today that Final Fantasy XIV digital sales would be suspended. After Endwalker’s recent publication, there have been ongoing server congestion and long queue times for the popular MMORPG.

Square Enix previously offered players seven days of game time. They’ve added two additional weeks to compensate. According to their official website (thanks to The Gamer), director Naoki Yoshida, a game producer, released a statement regarding these problems.

Endwalker, XIV’s latest expansion, was officially released last week on December 7, but anyone pre-ordered it received early access on December 3. It’s been a problematic launch, with servers constantly reaching maximum capacity. Follow us to get Final Fantasy news as it happens.
