Halo Infinite’s Big Team Battle multiplayer game mode hasn’t been functioning as it should for some time. Large matchmaking groups have difficulty getting into games, and players are often disconnected when they do. Today’s patch addressed the issue, but it turned out that these minor adjustments did not improve Big Team Battle matchmaking.
Brian Jarrard, 343 Industries community director, tweeted, “Well… damn… today’s BTB hotfix doesn’t appear to be what we expected.” Although there are some minor improvements, matchmaking problems are still present. We are grateful to all those who worked hard, and we’re sorry that this wasn’t enough. The work continues.
Reddit and Twitter users are confirming the failure of the fix. Some players have reported new problems following the hotfix installation, including random bursts or lag and the inability to connect with game servers.
Although there is no way to know when the next update will hopefully be more efficient, it seems like it might take some time. Jarrard responded to a follower’s suggestion that 343 stop participating in Big Team Battle challenges until the problem was fixed. Please stay tuned.”
I have reached out to 343 Industries and will update this post if I respond.
